Array Tomography Workshop at Oxford Brooks

Array Tomography Workshop at Oxford Brooks

2018 Oxford Brooks Array Tomography Course

RMC Boeckeler, together with Zeiss, run two workshops each year on aspects of Array Tomography and 3D reconstruction, focussing on information collection (ATUM & ASH) and data analysis (Zeiss and Atlas 5 software).

These workshops have traditionally been run at the Zeiss facilities in Munich and Oberkochen but this year we decided to share the venues between UK and Germany using our close relationship with the Bioimaging Unit at Oxford Brookes University, a relationship we have had for more than 20 years.

This was the first such workshop conducted at Oxford and we are very pleased to say it was a great success. It was very well attended, with more applications to visit than we had anticipated!

We had visitors from many countries: UK, France, Belgium, Sweden and South Africa, a truly International meeting, but more visitors from other countries will always be made more than welcome.

Presentations by Dr. Louise Hughes (Oxford Brookes) and Dr. Eric Hummel (Zeiss) were very well received as were practical demonstrations of the ATUM and a preview of the new ASH2 section collection system; this generating a lot of interest!

We look forward to the next meeting and welcoming new friends from all over.
